ThermaCELLŪ, the only butane-operated mosquito repellent is now available in the UK.   
ThermaCELL  system creates a 15 x 15-foot  zone of protection that is up to 98% effective against mosquitoes and other biting insects.  The unit operates on a single butane cartridge,
which heats a mat releasing allethrin, a synthetic copy of a naturally occurring insect repellent. 
Each mat contains enough repellent for four hours of protection, and each butane cartridge will operate the unit for 12 hours. 

The unit has been widely used in the United States
and Canada for many years. 

ThermaCELL has been evaluation for use by the US Army and
results have lead to The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research to state that  "ThermaCELL is the most effective area-wide repellent in the world”.
